| So guys, any idea what's going on with my laptop?
It was working fine just a few minutes ago, when while browsing the web (Games Workshop's site, if you must know), everything locked up. My cursor froze over a mouse-over Flash icon, with weird green, blue and black lines over the image. I held down the power button to reboot, got a few flashes of green lines, and the system stopped loading after the Windows logo popped up. Again, I tried a reboot, getting to my desktop, but with flickers of green lines during the boot, and now my entire screen is filled with flickering purple and green lines, and a visible screen refresh bar.
I've scanned for viruses and malware: nothing. Is this a hardware problem? I've looked up similar problems and the closest thing I could find (considering I can't see too well through the screen) is something about moisture getting into circuitry of a digital camera, requiring a total replacement.
So here are my questions: 1. Any idea what the hell is going on? 2. Should I reboot again and see if it goes away? 3. Any good replacement laptops you can recommend, in case it's well and truly fucked? Thanks in advance. | comments: 5 comments or Leave a comment |

| Alright, it's official: I've entered the cutthroat, ruthless world of WEBCOMICS.
"Dead Tree Pride" is my first official contribution to the world of comics on the internets. It will be updated weekly (Mondays), starting with the two I've already posted here. We'll see how long I can keep this up. Here's the deal for the summer: send me ideas for strips! Stories that happened during the last two years, anecdotes I've forgotten, things you wish had happened, etc. Those past events will be the summer strips. Once Fall '07 starts up, I'm sure I'll have plenty of material to farm. Until then, please help me out!
Oh, and here's the link to the comic: http://www.webcomicsnation.com/dungeonmaestro/deadtreepride/series.php

| The second installment of "Dead Tree Pride." I'm actually registering with Webcomics Nation because I think I could go with this for a while. Also, I can get more people to read it without necessarily linking here. Enjoy:

| I'm thinking about starting a webcomic about Marlboro and the madness that ensues while we're there. It'd be called "Dead Tree Pride" or something similarly saccharine, and would feature many wonderful stories that Marlboro folk are familiar with. In fact, to see if I was down this idea, I drew one anecdote. Without further ado, I give you "Late-Night Library Stories":

Fuck, it's 4:44 AM already? When did that happen?
...Shit. | comments: 10 comments or Leave a comment |

| Just a moment ago, I was struck with an idea which I'm sure has passed through the minds of anyone who's every read superhero comics:
The Justice League. As high-school students.
I did a few sketches just now, and I'm rather pleased with the results. I'll have to scan them in and put them up. But later, when I'm not exhausted and more coherent. | comments: 1 comment or Leave a comment |

| OK, let's be perfectly honest here. All biases about gaming and roleplaying aside:
You know you would play a game set in the universe of Philip Pulman's His Dark Materials trilogy.
Come on, how incredible would that be? Gaslamp alternate reality/fantasy with social and spiritual overtones, a gripping and familiar (yet distinctly new) world (or worlds, depending)... plus, let's be honest: Panzerbjorn. You know that you want to be a fucking huge, sentient polar bear that builds its own armor. | comments: 3 comments or Leave a comment |
| | Current Music: | Filter - Take a Picture (Hybrid Mix) | | Time: | 04:40 pm | | Current Mood: | excited |
|
| I've discovered some new music, and, in the vein of all good music that I find, it makes me shiver when I listen to it. The group is Hybrid, an electronica duo which blends tight breakbeats and Crystal Method-style hard-hitting bass seamlessly with tear-jerkingly beautiful melodies and a live full orchestra.
Their remix of Filter's "Take a Picture" is particularly incredible. And "Finished Symphony" takes my breath away every time I listen to it.
I'm going to make as many people as I can listen to them. Hybrid is definitely worth checking out, even if you're not a fan of electronica; they're surprisingly accessible. It's like what might happen if BT, The Crystal Method, Armin Van Buuren, and Hans Zimmer all had a lovechild. Surprisingly gorgeous. | comments: Leave a comment |

Intriguing, and not really my top 10 of all time, but considering the past four months... interesting. More tracking at: http://www.last.fm/user/IronZapatista | comments: Leave a comment |

| The music of David Lanz has the power to change one's life. There are no words to express what his piece "Homecoming" means to me, but anything that can bring me to tears every time I listen to it is incredible.
